Serving at Petal UMC.
We exist to bring glory to God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered community, gospel-centered service and gospel-centered multiplication. This is our process for discipleship. Out of this gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving those in and outside the church. One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait is through volunteer opportunities.
Petal UMC Kids
Volunteers in Petal UMC Kids minister to our 1st - 5th graders during weekend worship services through singing, telling stories and teaching the truth of God's Word with the children. They check in kids, lead classrooms, provide assistance to classroom teachers and sing or play in the worship band.

Petal UMC Youth Ministries
Sunday Gatherings:
Those serving in our Youth Ministry on Sundays get the opportunity to build and foster relationships with students, ministering them through the teaching of Scripture, worship and intentional discipleship.
Midweek Gatherings:
Youth Ministries also meets together midweek for games, community, teaching and bible discussions. We start the evening together playing games and hearing a message, specially crafted for middle and high school students.

Sunday Gatherings:
Our Sunday morning gatherings are the beginning for most people at Petal UMC. We need people who can serve as Altar Guild, Greeters, Media Team, and many other places, as well as members of the worship team.
Community Groups:
Because our Community Groups are so central to the life here at Petal UMC, we are always in need of more people to host, lead and co-lead a group.
Generosity
Donating your time is not the only way to serve at Petal UMC.. There are recurring costs to operating and staffing our ministry, as well as helping us do work throughout our community and the world. Discipleship
As Jesus left this world, his parting words to his disciples were: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." We challenge you to be willing to serve and make disciples with us.
